Movement | Mary Naden | All Levels | Evening Mini-Class | Week 2 (July 13-15, 2025)
Alexander Technique has a 130 year history of teaching people how to use their bodies well again. It is a form of postural re- education that teaches you to use your whole self with ease, power and efficiency. It is taught in performing arts schools and conservatories throughout the world to prevent repetitive stress injuries and maximize performance.
This class will teach you the basic thinking and processes of Alexander Technique through simple procedures that will help you hold your instrument, stand, sing and play with less tension and overworking. I will give you gentle hands-on guidance, plenty of verbal reinforcement, and build on our skills over the 4 sessions. It will also include a relaxing “mat time” that you can take home for your own self-care.
Students should wear comfortable, non- restrictive clothing and bring a mat to class if you have one. Most of all, bring your curiosity!
