Guitar | Eric Noden | Intermediate/Advanced | Period 3 | Week 2 (July 13-17, 2026)
Dive into the style of one of the greatest Piedmont blues guitarists of all time, Reverend Gary Davis. While much of Davis’s repertoire is highly advanced, this workshop is designed to ease you into his distinctive approach by uncovering a few of the core techniques he used throughout his playing. In this class, Eric will break down Reverend Gary Davis’s classic tune “Sally Where’d You Get Your Liquor From,” using it as a gateway into the style. You’ll learn key elements such as parallel harmonies, finger-and-thumb scale patterns, independent bass lines, and more—all presented in an enjoyable, accessible way for intermediate to advanced players. Guitar tablature is included.
