Folk Arts for Kids: STEAM Edition!
Date: July 13-18, 2025
At Augusta’s Folk Arts for Kids (STEAM edition!), children aged 5 to 11 will dive into a world of visual arts, dance, and crafts, creating unique artworks and engaging in hands-on experiences. The theme of this week is STEAM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Throughout the week, each day’s projects will blend fun science and math concepts with traditional art forms like quilting, drawing, watercolor painting, singing, dancing, natural dyes, and color theory. Emily Prentice will lead the program, with exciting guest workshops each day hosted by visiting STEAM educators who specialize in areas like botanical painting, astronomy, chemistry, robotics, and quilting.
