Instructor Bio
Son of Delton Broussard, one of the first Creole musicians to teach at Augusta in the 1980s, Jeffery Broussard is committed to carry on his daddy’s legacy. Jeffery has long been respected as one of the most influential accordionists and vocalists in modern Zydeco music and is one of the genre’s most dynamic performers. He has continually been an innovator. He began his career with traditional Zydeco music at the age of 8 playing drums in his father’s band, Delton Broussard & the Lawtell Playboys, and then moved on to develop the nouveau Zydeco sound with the band Zydeco Force. He’s now returning to the more traditional Zydeco sound with his band Jeffery Broussard and the Creole Cowboys and their great renditions of Creole classics.
