(CLASS FULL) In this workshop, we will hone in on processes and techniques to repurpose and transform scrap into cloth that has meaning and purpose in our everyday lives. We will take a deep dive into artisan Laurie Gundersen’s bountiful rag material collection and into the myriad ways of approaching conscious cloth. Laurie will guide and share her skills of working on the loom, rug hooking, and the slow stitch. Working primarily with natural fibers, wool, linen, cotton, and jute, each student will focus on the processes that ring true for themselves and come away from the week with a multitude of new skills and textile comrades. Come explore and immerse yourself in the creative process of repurposing.
Materials fee for the class will be $30, paid to the instructor during class.
