Bluegrass Fiddling with Becky Buller

Join the 2016 IBMA Fiddler of the Year for a fun, fast-paced frolic while making friends with the “Ol’ Devil’s Box.”

Becky will work with you to further develop your ear training, improvisational skills, library of legendary licks and standard song repertoire, technique, confidence, and much more.

Her aim is for you to end the workshop feeling empowered and equipped to enjoy any bluegrass jam you encounter.

Becky is a 10-time IBMA award winner, a 2023 Minnesota Music Hall of Fame inductee, debuted as the #1 album on the Billboard Bluegrass chart in 2024 (Jubilee), and has performed multiple times on WSM’s Grand Ole Opry. The Unified Theory of Banjo with Ned Luberecki

In this workshop Ned will explain his “Unified Theory” for banjo playing which includes how to work up solos based on the melody using bluegrass standards, fiddle tunes and maybe even pop songs and TV show themes. We’ll also work on how to improvise solos to songs on the spot with a technique Ned likes to call “Jam Session Survival”. We’ll also work on backup and how to make the licks you already know sound better. “It’s better to sound good than to be good”, is Ned’s motto!

About the artists:

Ten-time International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) award-winning songwriter, singer, and fiddler Becky Buller and Banjo Hall of Famer Ned Luberecki are bringing an evening of their delightfully delusional Indiegrass roots music to YOU!

Becky has written for many notable artists, including songs on three GRAMMY-award-winning albums by Molly Tuttle (2023), the Travelin’ McCourys (2019), and the Infamous Stringdusters (2018). She is also a member of the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame and the St. James (MN) Arts Hall of Fame. Her song cycle album, Jubilee, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Album Chart for June of 2024. Her 2025 album, Songs That Sing Me, is her first-ever all-covers album and already has over 330,000 streams on Spotify.

Ned is the 2018 IBMA Banjo Player of the Year as well as the 2023 IBMA Broadcaster Of The Year. His voice reaches a quarter of the globe via SiriusXM Satellite Radio’s Bluegrass Junction, where he has pioneered the art of teaching banjo over the airwaves. Ned toured and recorded extensively through the years with Paul Adkins and the Borderline Band, the Rarely Herd, and Chris Jones & The Night Drivers before joining Becky’s band in 2015.

When performing as a duo, stellar songwriting, mighty musicianship, quirky covers, and cornball comedy combine to create a cup overflowing with joy and light only live music shared with real people in real time and real space can bring.
