All Instruments | Justin Golden | All Levels | Period 2 | Week 2 (July 13-17, 2026)
Justin will help you build your Country Blues repertoire by teaching several of his favorite songs each day. This class is appropriate for all instruments and singers. Songs will be presented with options for multiple skill levels so all students can challenge themselves no matter what level they are at. Students will learn classic country blues repertoire and have the opportunity to jam songs and push their fingerpicking techniques. Every day we will review the songs we’ve learned. By the end of the week we will have learned 4-6 songs.
We will primarily be in the Keys of C, E, G, and D.
About the Instructor
With roots in the Mississippi Delta, Chicago, and the Piedmont of Virginia, Richmond-based guitarist and songwriter Justin Golden’s origins are deeply vested in the blues. First picking up the guitar at age 19, Golden did what came naturally and let the music flow through him. With an extremely diverse musical palette, Golden aims to bring some new ideas to traditional blues forms. In addition to his work as a recording and performing artist, Golden maintains a busy teaching schedule and works with the non-profit The Rhapsody Project to provide community enrichment through anti-racist cultural heritage programs.
