Singing | Jan Boney | All Levels | Evening Mini-Class | Week 1 (July 8-11, 2024)
No prior French needed! Participants will gain skills and tools for pronouncing French in order to sing Cajun songs with confidence and clarity. Materials distributed will include every vowel and consonant and their various spellings. Practice will involve fun terms familiar to many (for example, boudin, bayou, Breaux). We will explore key pronunciation differences between International French and Louisiana French. We will discuss various tools (dictionaries, websites) and their advantages. After this workshop, you will be able to move from printed French (such as liner notes, books, or cajunlyrics.com) to singing in French boldly and clearly.
Mini-classes are held Monday through Thursday the week of programming from 6:00-7:15pm. They may be taken in addition to daytime classes or on their own. Cost is $75.
